A what now?
A gashapon is a capsule dispenser. You probably remember those gum ball machines from your childhood: you put in a coin, turn the knob, and you hear a gum ball fall down. You reach behind the metal flap and.. yay! You just paid way too much for a one year old gum ball!
And what then?
The ultimate goal is to make this gashapon an even better experience than the gum ball machine, and also give you something that's actually worth the money. I want to change this gashapon from mechanical to electronic, and fill it with 10cm plastic capsules containing artistic soldering kits.
This gashapon works on €2 coins, and mechanically checks the coin and allows the knob to turn. When turning the knob, it rotates a biiiiig gear with a 10+cm whole in it at the bottom of the gashapon, causing one (1) capsule to exit the machine. The following steps are planned:
- get an electronic coin mech working with an ESP32
- either hook up a stepper motor to the big gear that releases one (1) capsule, or keep the turning knob to rotate the gear and use a pin to block the gear after one (1) capsule exits
- replace all plexiglass since 1 is broken and the rest is damaged
- order a ton of 10cm capsules
- design a ton of soldering kits
- add blinkenleds
- add more blinkenleds
